Please include the following information in the email:
- Actual ad as an attachment
- Date range that the ad should be visible on digital signage

- .jpg is the preferred file format
- Landscape orientation, 1920 x 1080 pixels (16:9)
- Font: Proxima Nova. Contact ithelp@viu.ca if you require assistance acquiring font.
Template starting point for creating ads
Ad content
Ads should be short. There is limited space on the signage for information and the ads display for only 15 seconds - so only the most important details should be included:
- Headline
- Description (brief, if necessary)
- Location
- Date and time
- short URL (we can create one that redirects to the actual one)
- Follow VIU's brand standards when possible
Additional high resolution graphics or professional quality photographs illustrating or emphasizing the event are allowable but should not detract from the message. Images subject to copyright should not be used.
Other considerations
Digital signage offers VIU Campuses the opportunity to foster a sense of community by timely communicating messages of interest and importance to our students and employees.
Messages must be appropriate for viewing in public areas and comply with the following criteria
- Compliance with the University's strategic messaging and goals
- Compliance with all copyright and trademark laws and regulations
- Be of broad interest to the campus community
- No commercial or other for-profit messages
- Messages cannot be of a political nature or be an endorsement for any political candidate or person seeking an official position, whether it be on or off campus
